Durano, you never say too much, and it's always great to hear from you!

I believe too that you can lead a good life without all of the luxuries and amenities as well.

There is an old proverb that says something like: '...contentment is worth more than a kingdom...', but in an age when we seem to be more focused on material possessions, this seems to fall by the wayside.

While many, as you say, are handed a raw deal in life, their final outcome is dependent on the choices that they make, and on the quality of their character.

I would choose a poor person of good character over a rich one of poor character any day.

Whether we choose to believe that we can overcome obstacles and barriers, and seeing ourselves doing it, has a lot to do with our ultimate success, or lack thereof...

Hi Allan,
There are people who are born in the poorest circumstances but rise above their difficulties and become outstanding achievers. There are also those who are born with all the amenities and luxuries life has to offer and yet lead wretched lives.

I believe, as you do that the key lies in our perception of ourselves. Perception on the other hand, is dependent on what beliefs we have of ourselves; coming from those we convince ourselves are true about us, and those we accepted from other people - especially those we trust to say the truth.

Once a belief is accepted, we act as if it were true. Reinforcement by experience will be make it true. This acceptance goes into the sub-conscious and we act on these beliefs automatically and impersonally to constantly reinforce it. That is why it is difficult for some people to change their perception, their beliefs are deeply embedded in their sub or un-conscious mind.

The idea of projection is good because it forces the individual to introspect and unearth those beliefs in his unconscious mind that produces his perception of himself. Projection is a great help.

I hope I have not said too much. Happy Valentines Day to you and all your girls! --Durano, done!
