As everyone knows, Facebook is a great way to network, and to get to know other people.
What a lot of people don’t realise though is that there are a number of on site applications that can help to achieve this.
As soon as many people read the above paragraph, they might well assume that I am talking about applications that allow members to introduce their friends to other friends. The application that I am talking about is completely different!
Blog Friends is a tool which which allows members to link their blogs to their Facebook Profile, as I have done with Coffee With Allan.
There are a number of applications which allow members to use blogs on the site, but Blog Friends is one of the more popular of these applications.
When I publish a blog on my site, it is picked up and displayed in my profile, that of my friends, and also their other friends. This in effect creates a network of blogs, and is a handy way of keeping up with some very good bloggers!
That’s great, but how does this help extend my network?
Simple! A number of times now, friends from other networks such as Stumbleupon and Twitter, have noticed my blog on their friend’s feeds.
They find their way to my profile, realise who I am, and add me as a facebook friend, thus enhancing the links that previously existed.
Networking across platforms is made easy on Facebook, with Linkedin, Twitter, and Stumbleupon, plus others, having applications that help to facilitate this.
Now for the disclaimer: I am not advertising for any company or application mentioned here, neither am I connected with them in any other way than as someone who uses the service that they provide!
