I guess that a more proper title would have been “Is it RIGHT to have an affair without sex…?”

As I say in the post, the guy is still cheating, and is getting some sort of emotional support that rightfully should be a part of his relationship with his wife.

And as was noted on the original story, sooner rather than later sex does come into the relationship if it continues as is.

You should absolutely not do this, it is still an affair whether there is sex or not. It still hurts your spouse, and yes I know from experience.
My now ex-husband his first affair was via the phone. I guess since he got away with that one he thought he could take it to a new level with the next. I found out about this one and the rest, and him, is history.

It’s definitely possible. The last couple years we have stopped chatting on our computers because they take up too much time and were causing unnecessarily hassles.

If you like to talk a lot to everyone it can cause misunderstandings especially if you don’t have proper boundaries. It also takes away from family time. I’m happy to have evenings free to chat with my husband.
