Facebook Friend: Boogie Woogie Piano Man Clay Cotton!

this is Clay's profile
“Mick Jagger Says Piano Man Won’t Tour With Us – I Guess We’re Too Showy!”….1973

I’ve said it over and over again!

Facebook is an absolutely amazing place to meet people from around the world!

Being a ‘baby boomer’, and having spent years listening to the music of Janis Joplin, BB King, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton and Bonnie Raitt, it blew me away to meet Clay Cotton, The Piano Man!

What do these performers have in common…?

Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia, Hank Williams Jr., B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana, Chuck Berry, Boz Skaggs, Charlie Musselwhite, Taj Mahal, Robert Cray, Etta James and scores of others…

They all know, and/or have played with Clay Cotton! Clay, the Boogie Woogie Jazz Piano Man!

Clay started his professional music career in 1967 with blues legend Charlie Musslewhite, and spent over 20 years at the top as sideman to the stars!

“Truly a crack piano player and damn good man to boot.” …Bonnie Raitt, 1993

With his wife Kimberley, Clay now concentrates on Web 2.0 Publishing and Networking, and Business Coaching. Along the way, Clay has also had experience as a Copywriter, Stockbroker and Day Trader!

Crack piano player and damn good man develops Multiple Sclerosis…!

No more music you say? Well, unfortunately no more new music, due to illness.

During the 1990’s, Clay developed MS, or Multiple Sclerosis.

Multiple Sclerosis is an inflammatory disease of the Central Nervous System.

Clay isn’t slowing down though, not by a long shot!

He has released his recordings on CD, and as you can see above, is still keeping himself busy with his other projects.

I have embedded some of his music below, and included a link below where you can listen to more of Clay’s Music.

My impression of Clay is that he’s not sitting feeling sorry for himself, but is out there fighting and having a go.

With Christmas just around the corner, Clay’s music would make an excellent gift for that hard to buy for person, or even for you!

I’m not even going to mention doing this to help Clay, because I don’t want to embarrass him. The music, and the quality of the CDs speak for themselves, and don’t need me to do a sales pitch!

Why not get to know Clay yourself…?

What Clay would like to do is to get to know others from around the world, and you can help him do this by clicking on his Facebook profile picture above, and then add him as a friend on Facebook.

If you want to help with research into finding a cure for MS, find a foundation or charity that works in your area.

When looking for one though, ask them how much of your dollar goes to the actual work. I reckon that any less than 90% is a rip off!

To listen to more of Clay’s music, you can go to CD Baby.com

There are 16 songs that you can listen to there, so that you can have an extended sampling session!

Check out this quote: “I asked him, but he won’t tour with us. I suppose we’re too showy…” …Mick Jagger, 1973

While you’re there, read quotes from Jimi Hendrix way back in 1969, and Bozz Skaggs in 1988…

Ken Swank’s ex-wife…. I wondered what happened to you..how are you? Clark Jerrel just sent me your video..

  2. Hi Diane, Clay’s not here, I wrote about him after being introduced online by a mutual friend. If you’re looking for him, the best I could suggest would be to start at his YouTube profile and go from there. He doesn’t appear to be on Facebook anymore. Good luck, Allan.
