Please Come And Help The Little Children

by Allan on July 21, 2008

George KarahaliosMeet my friend George Karahalios!

I met George on Facebook last year, and I count him as a very close on line friend.

Since we met there, George and I have been in contact by phone and email.

While he is very active in business, George also has a heart for those less fortunate than himself.

Kathaluwa Kids

George emailed me today to give me an update on the continuing work in Sri Lanka, one of the nations hardest hit by the Tsunami of 2005.

By starting a group on Facebook called Kathaluwa, George and a number of friends started the ball rolling to help orphans in the stricken nation.

Now caring for 47 orphans there, Kathaluwa has teamed with Orphans International, who this (northern) summer have sent four volunteer teachers to help.

The orphans now go to school, and are being taught language, computer and living skills.

Up to 300 children and adults are being schooled in Sri Lanka by the organization.

You can Meet George on Facebook.

George KarahaliosGeorge is involved in mass media communications, yachting and a number of other business activities.

Yes, George quite a high profile, but I have found that that he has a heart for the needy too.

If he was writing this post, I’m sure that he wouldn’t be talking about his business, but rather, he’d be saying some thing like:

“…won’t you please come join us as we help these little ones?…”
