Allan Cockerill eats humble pie!
The comments concerned Disqus and Intense Debate, and were in relation to the CommenTwitter WordPress plugin that I am using on this site.
I wrote about CommenTwitter here!
Disqus, like CommenTwitter, posts visitors’ comments to Twitter.
I responded to a commenter and said that I had ‘trialled both Disqus and Intense Debate, and found short comings’.
My apologies are due to the developers of both these plugins, and I have edited the offending comment.
What I Should Have Said:
I tried both Disqus and Intense Debate some time ago, but prefer this plugin because it allows me to retain control over comments on my site.
The reason that I said this was because a friend of mine had trouble when leaving Disqus, and wanted to import their comments back to their blog.
This Problem Has Been Rectified
This problem has now been rectified, and comments can more easily be saved and imported back to your blog if you should leave the service.
In fact, my friend has since reinstated Disqus!
Excuse me! I’ll take my foot out of my mouth, and check that my teeth are OK!
I’d encourage you to visit The Disqus Site and have a look for your self.
The front page features some great endorsements from happy users.
Again, I’m sorry for any offence that I may have caused!
