Related Posts WordPress Plugin
One of the things that I find really handy about WordPress is that I’m able to customize my blog using plugins.
WordPress plugins can help make your blog more functional as well as more accomodating to your personal style.
One problem that I had been thinking about lately was how to keep my vistitors on site for a little longer.
Because I write about a number of topics, they may not suit all my readers, so while someone might enjoy reading about WP today, they may not want to read what I wrote about Mental As Anything the other day.
To get around this, I recently installed a plugin called “Related Posts”.
This enables visitors to navigate their way around my site more easily, and access relevant posts without having to go searching!
Related Posts works by comparing the tags from your latest post with previous ones. If they match, the related posts will be displayed on you latest entry.
It works via a sidebar widget, and also gives the option of adding posts below the one being read, as I have done.
I like this option, simply because people read down the page, and are more likely to see it here than in the sidebar if they are new, or in a hurry.
To go to the plugin home page, simply click on the icon, above right. Note that the page is mainly written in German.
Access the plugin via WordPress here.
WordPress notes that the plugin is compatible up to Version 2.3.1, but I am using it here, on Ver 2.5 with no problems.
If it works for you, please consider donating to the author of the program.
