Who Are You?
Teeg to the rescue!
Today’s guest post is from Teeg, and she asks the question of what’s your role, or passion, in life?
“What do you see yourself as?”Allan asked me the other day.
The answer was quick in coming, but still surprised me. “A writer.”
I love doing graphic art. I enjoy doing web design. I’ve done some professional work with both of these.
I also enjoy marketing and social media. I even have a blog about social media.
Discussing my blog and a book I’m working on was what led Allan to ask me how I saw myself.
It’s funny, I’ve run from the idea of being a writer like some people run from going into the ministry.
In college, I even refused to take the courses that I loved (writing, computers, and math) and got a degree in a subject that interested me but I really couldn’t imagine working in for a lifetime.
After college, I worked as a secretary…and whenever I’d have free time, I’d find myself writing. Outside of promising a friend not to throw away my stories, I never thought much about it though… writing was just a pastime after all.
After I got married, I ignored the urge to write… for about 10 years. It wasn’t until last spring that I finally gave into it again… and realized that I was finally content.
I am going to ask you the same question. But don’t analyze it or try to figure out what the right answer is, give the answer that comes instantly.
Then, if the answer surprises you, give yourself time to figure out what your heart is trying to tell you.
What do you see yourself as?
