Hacking Facebook Profiles And Deleting Accounts

Most of the chain letters that were circulating on Facebook recently seem to have died down a bit now, but I am still being asked about hackers cloning profiles!

Can a hacker clone a Facebook profile? I’m pretty sure they can’t, and I’m also pretty sure that Facebook are on top of things generally.

As I shared in previous posts when I pointed people looking for information to the Facebook Blog, that Facebook will alert members to issues themselves, and will not resort to getting others to ‘send it on’ to let everyone know!

As for Facebook deleting inactive accounts: Not True!

Again, as I shared earlier, this is a rehashed hoax from years ago, and is completely untrue. Please don’t waste bandwidth, and everyone else’s time by sending it on!

Hackers accessing your account when added as a friend: Not True

Another one that is so old that it has hairs on it, dating from 2000 and originally about Hotmail! Please don’t waste bandwidth etc! 😉

Please be responsible. If someone sends this stuff to you, just ask them not to, and refer them to the Facebook Blog. For heavens sake, don’t send it on!

The Admin does a great job of trying to stay on top of spam, and if Facebook members work with them, it will make for an even better experience!

Keep your wall for all the great jokes, videos, photographs and other great stuff getting around.

My Disclaimer:

I really enjoy Facebook, it’s one of the best places online!

I’m not an employee or a spokesperson for Facebook, and make no claim to be acting for the company in any capacity.

I write about the things that I have learned about the site, simply because so many people don’t bother checking for themselves.

If you have any questions about Facebook, check the blog, or contact support.
