A Business Coach And Mentor Helps Maintain Balance
I was speaking to Business Mentor and Coach Ric Raftis the other day, and he mentioned a client of his who is a real stand out.
Ric explained that his client, when asked what business he was really in, said: “…my business is to help people relive their youth…”
He then went on to share how he intended to get there.
It turns out that Ric’s client operates rebuilds old motor bikes for Baby Boomers who remember the days of their youth.
Another idea was starting Harley Davidson tours around wilderness areas of the Australian island state of Tasmania.
What struck Ric was the clarity of the man’s vision and purpose. So often in business, people can wander around getting caught up in a tangle of activities, and lose sight of their goals.
Clarity of vision, and careful planning, are very important in any business, and this dream merchant has obviously got a great idea of where he is heading.
Having a vision, and being able to bring a dream into existence in the real world is a real key to success.
Having a business coach to walk alongside to keep your feet on the ground is a necessity as well.
I have to admit that Ric hammers into me at times to keep me on the straight and narrow as far as productivity is concerned.
Mentors can be anyone at all from a friend, to a business professional like Ric with years of helping others build their business.
Finding the right one is essential, as in today’s economic climate, the last thing we need is to be steered down the wrong path.
My thought for today: If you’re looking for a mentor, make sure that you find one who knows what they’re talking about!
Maintaining a balance between the vision, and setting it in motion is the key. Remember that “without a vision the people perish“. (Proverbs 29:18)
Ric offers a great weekly newsletter with business news, tips and links. I can definitely recommend it!
Please note that this isn’t a paid post – I have written it simply because of the work that Ric puts in for his clients and friends!
