Simple Ways To Build Your Brand Online
Using social media to build your presence online needn’t involve spam, nor does it require a large financial investment!
Basically all it involves is time, and done correctly, it can actually make money for you.
One way to do this is to set up a profile, and then write ‘mini blogs’ in your field of expertise on sites such as Hubpages.com
Hub pages allows you to share in revenue, so that as you gather followers on the site, and have people visit, you can potentially make money out of the whole thing.
The other advantage is of course that you can build back links to your website or blog.
Another way of getting your name out of course is to be active on social networking sites. A very easy one of course is Stumbleupon!
I’m using my profile at Stumbleupon as a means of letting people get to know me by posting to the blog there.
I might talk about what I am doing on other social media sites, or just get something off my chest.
The site is much more than a social bookmarking service, and treating it as such does both Stumbleupon, and the user, a great disservice!
You can use sites like Stumbleupon or Twitter in two ways – pester everyone to stumble your blog, or website, and make yourself a real pain in the butt in the process, or make yourself the type of person that people would want to meet.
I’m not talking about being plastic, or building a false image of yourself, but rather, being natural and making friends.
That way people will want to follow you, and see what you are up to. Which in turn creates a buzz when they tell their friends.
Of course, one of the easiest places to get to know people online at present is Plurk!
I like this site because most of the members there are early adopters – meaning that when anything new comes along, they are there trying it out.
This makes it an exciting place to be, and somewhere to learn and pick up new ideas.

Have a great weekend!
