Maintaining An Uncluttered Lifestream With FriendFeed
FriendFeed is a great tool, aggregating feeds from a number of sources, such as Stumbleupon, Twitter and your blog.
While this diversity is good, it can look very untidy when presented in one place, such as on your Facebook profile.
If you have already installed the Twitter, Stumbleupon and Ma.gnolia applications on Facebook, you could be faced with the problem of having your feeds appear three or four times in the one place!
Apart from looking unprofessional, it also has a bit of a ‘spammy’ look to it!
This is further aggravated if you happen to bookmark a site on Digg, and then go and do the same with Stumbleupon and Ma.gnolia.
All your bookmarks will be displayed on your Friendfeed, and if you have activated the applications on Facebook, they will be displayed on your profile separately, as well as in your lifestream on Friendfeed.
The best option is to only activate applications on Facebook that you are not using with Friendfeed, and don’t use all your bookmarking sites at once.
This will lead to a cleaner look until a way is found for life streaming services to tell when the same site has been bookmarked using a range of platforms!
