Winners Never Quit
Winners Never Quit And Quitters Never Win
I was searching for a quote for a meme and came across this quote from Vince Lombardi (1913 – 1970).
For those not familiar with Lombardi, he was an American football player, coach, and executive.
He is best known as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers during the 1960s, where he led the team to three straight and five total National Football League championships in seven years, in addition to winning the first two Super Bowls following the 1966 and 1967 NFL seasons.
Lombardi is considered by many to be one of the best and most successful coaches in Professional Football history.[2] The National Football League’s Super Bowl trophy is named in his honor. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971. Source: Wikipedia
While Lombardi’s quote was intended to inspire his team (and with a record like his, it obviously worked), and has been often repeated by coaches and others over the years, it also applies in every day life!
Everybody we meet everyday is either facing, or has faced, a battle of some sort in their lives.
It could be a financial battle, health or relationship hassles.
Whatever the problem, another quote from someone who knew a bit about adversity, Winston Churchill: If you’re going through hell, keep going!
In other words, don’t give up, there’s light at the end of the tunnel (and no, it’s not the light of a train coming the other way!).
Some days having a win might be as simple as getting up to face another day, staying positive or giving someone else a hand.
I can’t imagine anything worse than giving up, and then finding that the breakthrough I’d been seeking had been just around the corner!
