Every now and again one gets to meet friends from social media sites in the flesh, and this week I had the pleasure of meeting Libertygrrrl!

A legal geek from Leura in the Blue Mountains of NSW, the person that you ‘see’ on Twitter is exactly the same as the one you’ll see in person.

I was introduced to @Libertygrrrl by RicRaftis, Joomla Expert Extroadinaire and all round nice guy from near Bendigo in Victoria, Australia.

Ric is a social media friend from about two years ago on Facebook, Twitter and a few other sites.

In an ‘All Australian’ Follow Friday post, other friends that I’d like to highlight this week include AussieShareman from Perth, West Australia, Ingrid Cliff from Brisbane, Queensland Australia and Sue Murdoch from Adelaide in South Australia!

These folks all add value to my experience on social media, they’re friendly, and they engage with others.

New Friends: What Do You Look For?

While a lot of people may check out the numbers of followers vs followees on Twitter, I always look to see how people interact.

If the majority of their tweets are just links to websites, either their own, or affiliate sites, I usually give them a wide berth.

If I can see that they interact with others though, I’m keen to join in and get to know them!
