Continuing My Writing Journey

I retired from work last year, thinking that I’d have more time to write, spend time with the kids and grandkids, maybe finally get around to writing that book, or those books, but things got in the way.

Or rather, life happened. There was sorrow, deep sorrow, as well as joy. There was travel, and a friend and I finally brought a vision we’d worked on for two years to fruition – a men’s health summit, which now looks to be set to become an annual event. But in all that, I had too much time to do nothing, so I did a lot of that.

Recently, though, the creative juices have started flowing again, and, strangely enough, it happened because I decided to go back to work and structure my time better. The money is handy too, of course.

I’ve decided to do things differently, though.

Going on a road trip

There’s a new site coming with a brand new theme and domain name, and a slightly different focus. I will still maintain this site, while changing the theme to match the new one, because there are still a lot of visitors to this site, and I think that while the interest is there, I should continue to maintain it.

I’m involved in a project that involves collaborating with A.I. Not getting a program or a robot to do the work for me, but rather to use it for research and to do things I can’t do. I’ve worked with human collaborators before, and will do so in future, but this is different.

One thing that you will never see here is AI-written content passed off as mine. I wrote earlier about what I think about this, and how it seems to border on plagiarism, so I definitely won’t be going there. For me, AI content blogging will involve using an excellent tool for resource, checking sources and facts, and going from there.

In the meantime, I’m approaching this as if I’m planning for a long road trip. Getting the vehicle (my website) tuned and ready while preparing what I want to take for the trip (content). I also need to add fuel and oil to make it all work (what plugins and design features do I need?). Of course, I’ll be documenting it (my log book), along with my robot friend, so that I can work out where I’ve been and what it has cost.

In the background will also be that book, or books, that I’m aiming to write. Staying healthy and motivated is the key. I hope to see you on the journey!
