Getting Yourself On The Internet Learn How To Blog
My friend Don White, from the Great White North has created a website with the purpose of teaching others how to blog.
If you have ever wanted to get yourself on the Internet, and create your own website, Don is the one to show you how to do it in the most cost effective and fastest way.
Whether you choose to use sites such as Blogger, Blogspot or WordPress.com for free, or to use blogging software such as WordPress on your own server, Don can point you in the right direction!
Before we go much further, let’s define the term!
Firstly, “blog” is a blend of the words web log
The word blog is both a noun and a verb. As a noun it is a type of website or part of a website.
Used as a verb, the word means to maintain or add content to a blog.
Don will show you how to download your software from the WordPress site, where to get the best themes and plugins, and how to customize your site.
Some of the best templates and themes are available for free, while commercial themes such as the Thesis WordPress theme that I use here can give you more functionality.
Don recently reviewed the Catalyst Theme for WordPress on his website.
You can meet Don here on Facebook .

Don is married to the lovely Helen, and writes songs and plays with the band ‘Grateful We’re Not Dead’.
For a man of his advanced years Don moves at a pace that would scare guys half his age!
G’day Allan,
Thanks for the article. Unfortunately, owing to a family emergency, Learn How To Blog has been extremely quiet for the last two months. Things have settled down now, at least for the time being, so I’ll be getting back to writing.
BTW, Helen says thanks for mentioning the “power behind the throne”. 🙂
And for those interested in the name “Grateful We’re Not Dead” we can be found at http://gratefulwerenotdead.com
Hey Don,
I trust that everything has quietened down now, and that things are going well for you!
Family emergencies distract all of us from time to time, and I guess that’s how it should be.
Tell She Who Must Be Obeyed that it was my pleasure.
Looking forward to your next post!
Allan
