Success Consists Of Going From Failure To Failure
The title of this post comes from one of my favorite quotes from Sir Winston Churchill:
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.
When you consider what this man went through, from the failure of the Dardanelles campaign during the 1st World War to the darkest days of World War Two, his periods of isolation and failure as well as times of triumph and celebration, you sort of get the feeling that he knew what he was talking about.
There’s a saying that goes along the lines of: the person who hasn’t made a mistake hasn’t made anything!
Made a few mistakes lately?
You’re in good company!
Suffering the blues? Churchill’s battle with the black dog of depression is well documented too!
It.Will.Be.Alright!
I have to be honest and say that I have had a few failures in my lifetime. I have to say too, that at the time they were epic failures, and yes, on several occasions I have become well acquainted with that rotten black dog myself.
But, here is the thing, the sun will still shine tomorrow.
People will still get up and go about their business.
And life will go on.
No one ever said that failure is terminal, and the worst thing we can do is confuse our identity with our circumstances.
