Using Google Hot Trends To Help Build Your Web Presence Pt One
This is part one of a two part series. Part two is here!
Google Trends, and Hot Trends have fascinated me since they were launched in May 2006 and 2007 respectively.
At different times since 2007 I’ve used search topics from Google to see how quickly content that I wrote them appeared in the search engine. Along the way I’ve learned to increase my speed in researching a topic, and then publishing my article.
I’d never say that I’m an SEO guru, but I took some steps with my test site that I hadn’t done with Coffee With Allan when I first started.
First, rather than register a new domain, I purchased a four year old one on Ebay. The domain had already been listed in Google, and possibly already had back links.
I had to pick the ideal name of course, as I would be writing about anything, and everything. I set the site up this weekend, and after the first day I had a total of 44 visitors. Not bad for a start, and it will be interesting to see how it progresses.
Secondly, I used Google Adwords keyword tool to pick keywords in my writing. The external keyword tool is handy, but if you’re likely to be using Adsense anyway, it makes sense to set up an account and log in.
