Social Networking Sites And Spam

by Allan on November 28, 2007

I’ve found a great article about spam on social networking sites!

While I love sites like Facebook, and Stumbleupon, I have only just begun to explore MyBloglog, Bumpzee and Mixx!

There are so many of these sites around that it’s almost impossible to keep track of them.

Meg writes about the spam that she’s encountered on MBL.

Obviously, social networking is a great way to get to know, and to be known by others.

There have to be limits though, and I’ve debated with more than one person about the attitude that networking equals advertising.

Quite Simply: It doesn’t!

Networking sites and their members need to realize that with the amount of competition about today, that if they don’t get the balance right, people will simply move to the next great thing.

If enough people cast their vote in this manner and create a buzz doing it, advertising revenue and prestige goes with them!

And maybe that’s what it’s going to take for some…

G’day Helen, great to hear from you!

I’d say that Santa needs all the help he can get, what with having to lug extra coal around for some this Christmas!

Stay in touch!
