Friend and fellow member of Share2Grow, Ange Recchia is preparing for an expedition to Papua New Guinea where she is going to trek the Kokoda trail.
The area passes through some of the most inhospitable areas on the island, with temperatures ranging from near freezing during the night, to soaring tropical heat by day.
In this video, the team encounters villagers suffering from pneumonia, and part of the support crew comes down with malaria.
team members are suffering various sprains and injuries following a long hike overnight to make up some distance.
The journey traces the steps of Australian and japanese troops who battled for supremacy in New Guinea, and hence control of vast areas of the Southern Pacific, as well as part of the Indian Ocean.
Tomorrow, another installment as team members battle exhaustion and injury after two 21 hour days.
