And The Most Secure IM Network Is…

SkypeI made a post here the other day about a recent Cnet survey which was conducted to see which Instant Message Service available was the most secure.

Services surveyed included AOL Instant Messenger, Google Talk, IBM’s Lotus Sametime, Facebook Chat, Microsoft’s Windows Live Messenger, and Skype.

The survey found that Skype is the most secure service.

In fact, according to Cnet, police in Germany have complained of being unable to ‘tap’ the service!

Skype’s director of corporate communications, Jennifer Caukin, stated that because of the company’s peer-to-peer architecture and encryption techniques, the company would be unable to comply with such a request.

  3. Hi Marc,

Thanks for the comment! Just goes to prove that you can never be too careful, as well as how things change quickly with technology.

    Cheers

Yes indeed, protect us from ourselves… what would we do without Big Brother? Is it too late to heed George Orwell’s warnings?

    Cheers!
