A Weekend Of Family Friends And Photography

Follow Me On TwitterAnd another busy weekend goes by..

We spent Saturday with family and friends, culminating with a dinner prepared by the men.

My contribution was a baked vegetable soup and a whole baked Brie cheese. The cheese was pierced with slivers of garlic cloves and put in a hot oven for 15 minutes.

Note: The cheese was a whole brie weighing one kg (Around 2 pound). Smaller pieces would only need ten minutes or less!

It was my first try at the recipe, and I found out later that I should have poured a red wine over the cheese before putting it in the oven.

Next time maybe!

Sunday morning was taken up by the monthly markets.

We’re trying to declutter the house, and have divided a heap of stuff into recyclable, sellable and junk!

I managed to avoid the temptation of buying at other stalls and bringing more stuff home, which would have defeated the purpose.

While the weather wasn’t the best, with rain causing an early finish to to the markets, it was still a profitable morning.

The weather cleared during the afternoon, so we went on a photo shoot to ‘Rock Forest’, an area between Bathurst and Orange in NSW on the Ophir road.

I’ve resized and placed some of the photos here for you to check out!

The day finished with a meet up of friends and family members at Jack Duggans for a couple of pints of Kilkenny and a snack!

Dinner was pumpkin soup, stroganoff and veges.

…a perfect end to the weekend!

This week is another busy one, starting at 5.00am tomorrow.

With a number of work assignments to complete this week, and some new clients to meet as well, it makes sense to start early before everyone else stirs.

While I don’t particularly like early starts (I’m still struggling with the early to bed part of the equation) an afternoon nap will help me freshen up.

Tuesday will be spent at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains working on a product launch with a client, while Thursday sees me back in the Mudgee wine region.

I hope that your weekend has been as satisfying as mine!

Have a happy, and fulfilling week!

  1. It sounds like you had a great weekend with a lot of variety – you can keep your Brie though, I have never been a huge cheese fan!

I really did enjoy the photos you took this weekend, I think one of the things that I do get out of your photos of the region near where you live is they remind me of some parts of country Victoria that I have always loved. Add to that my fascination with rocks, this post IS a winner in my opinion 😀

  2. @Wendishness The landscape here is very similar to that of country Victoria – I used to travel there a lot with my Dad years ago.
