Superwall Chain Letter Spammers Reach New Low

African ChildThe picture to the left is presently doing the rounds of Facebook, saying that each time people forward it, UNICEF will receive 10 Euros.

Of course, no mention is made of just who will pay the money. I suspect they think that it will just appear out of no where.

I’m guessing that the picture is taken from some legitimate charity working in Africa, and I have listed a couple below in case you are able to help kids like this.

Sending chain messages like this on Facebook, Myspace or even via email is totally sick in my opinion, and amounts to nothing more than playing on the emotions of good hearted people.

If you happen to receive it via the Superwall application on Facebook, do your self, and everyone else a favor – a) Don’t send it on and b) Send the person who sent it a message, and include the links to the charities below.

If they really want to do some good, let them reach into their pocket, and really do something to help these kids, not expect some fairy godmother to sprinkle money from heaven around the place.

The Facebook Terms of Use state:

“…you agree not to… upload, post, transmit, share or otherwise make available any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, solicitations, promotional materials, “junk mail,” “spam,” “chain letters,” “pyramid schemes,” or any other form of solicitation…”

Please Check Out These Charities:

I’m not associated with these charities at all, but if you can help in any way, please do so.

  1. I agree with you completely. Some people are so sick in the mind that I think they are the ones who need help.

Sending spam like this is further dehumanizing the plight of those who are trapped in this situation. It trivializes their hardships and mocks their helplessness.

The sickos who use this for spamming be damned! –Durano, done!

  2. G’day Durano,

The other side of the problem is that people just don’t think before sending the send button!

If they just paused long enough to think logically about what they were doing…

    Cheers
